A Little About Diane

Diane McDilda, born Diane Gow, was raised on the west coast of Florida. She spent many days riding her bike back and forth to the beach in search of a pickup volleyball game or Frisbee partner. She earned a Bachelors of Science degree in civil engineering from the University of South Florida and a Masters of Engineering degree in environmental engineering from the University of Florida. While working in consulting, she took up writing on the side, first for small local magazines, then national publications.

Now she's bringing her skills together.  In 2006, Diane became a book author with the publication of The Everything Green Living Book and 365 Ways to Live Green. Even while promoting her books with speaking engagements and book signings, she continued to write for various engineering trade publications. Diane is currently pursuing a position in the engineering or technical field that will put good use to her writing talents and her commitment to sustainability.

"Working in different fields has been such a beneficial learning process," says Diane.  "I can bring more to the table professionally because of my experience."

Diane lives in central Florida with her husband and two children, whose education, dance performances, and sporting events keep her busy. In her free time she squeezes in biking, kayaking, and hiking.
